40/40/40 was the lifetime of Moses. He died aged 120, Deut34:7, Ps90
40/40/40 were the reigns of Saul, David, and Solomon. Then the kingdom divided.

If a Thousand Years = One ‘day' (Ps90:4, 2Pet3:8), will he be returning "quickly"?
Adam lived to be 930, but he died on ‘Day One'. (70 yrs short of 'Day' Two)
They selected their Passover Lamb on the 4th Day. (After a 4 day 'trial'). Ex12:6
We're now in the 3rd Day (from Jesus) or the 7th Day (from Adam).

The three measures of dough are from Matthew 13:33.
The differences of operation (but same Lord) are from 1Cor12:5.
The Two Covenants are explicit in Gal 4:24, Jer31:31, Heb8:13

God said he was Married to the ‘sisters' Israel and Judah: Jer3:14
He was a husband (Isa54:5) to them, and a bridegroom to us!
In the OT (Rachel) they were the chosen people — chosen to bring forth
the Lamb of God because Rachel means "Ewe".
Now, in the NT, we are fruitful Leah who bore 6 sons + 1 daughter.
Because, by our fruits you will know us!

"But the [nine] fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law". Gal 5:22

and Boaz the Redeemer...

Many say the Bible was written by about forty different authors, but I never heard of such a marvelous committee, and am persuaded it was written by the Most Wise Author: the Holy Ghostwriter. Isaiah and Jeremiah didn't just decide to write a book; 'No', they were moved upon by the Holy Ghost. 2Pet1:21.

Christ is our Redeemer, Healer, Deliverer, Saviour, Restorer, Resurrection, etc. He's the Son, the Word, the Vine, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Light of the World, the Bread, the Rock, the Amen, etc.

Allegory is the telling of something in disguised terms; such as the way David was told by Nathan about his sin with Bathsheba, in 2Sam12.

In the OT, Ruth acts out her part as the 'bride of Christ' who gleans 'bread' (think 'Living Bread' of Jesus) in the fields of Boaz-the-Redeemer and even has some dropped special for her. Boaz, by the way, is the son of Salmon and 'Rahab' according to Matthew 1:5.

She 'uncovers his feet' translates to "having feet shod with the gospel", Eph6:15. Never mind the sexist report which tries to uglify the scene, and instead remember how our 'covering' is Jesus himself. 1Cor11:5.

What about the Name? Instead of naming their son 'Mahlon', as prescribed in Deut25:6, they name him 'Obed' (short for obedient, IMO), and he becomes father to Jesse and grandfather to David. Because "obedience is better than sacrifice", 2Cor10:5.

2Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
1Sam15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Its been said that a camel is simply a horse that was built by a committee -- surely the Bible has had a Guiding Light all the way from Genesis to Revelation.

Comments anyone?
